As we gathered in the hotel lobby in Davis at 3:30 a.m. All were blurry eyed but extremely motivated by the upcoming opportunity to travel to Washington D.C., and deepen our understanding and appreciation for our unique democracy. The excitement of this upcoming journey in leadership was felt by everyone in class 46.

As we arrived to DC with such a large group, we learned a few leadership lessons. For one, we need to learn to trust the system. As our journey progressed we learned the important contributions followers bring to the team. Finally, as a leader, we were often reminded of the importance of precise and effective communication within your team.

As we prepare for our next day in our national trip, we can't say thank you enough to the foundation, the donors and all of our families. This opportunity means so much for us as we continue on our leadership journey.
